Luneur Park – the Garden of Wonders!
Italy’s oldest amusement park, and one of the five oldest in Europe, was created in 1953 by the Autonomous Agency for the Universal Exposition of Rome for the Agricultural Fair, and later made permanent for the XVII Olympic Games held in Rome in 1960.
For generations, this amusement park has held a special place in the collective memory of Romans, serving as a beloved meeting point and source of entertainment for over 50 years. In 2008, it temporarily closed for extensive renovation and restoration works.
Located on an area of over 60,000 square meters on Via delle Tre Fontane, in Rome’s EUR district, the theme park reopened in 2016 in a completely renewed form under its new name, Luneur Park. Surrounded by greenery, it is a true wonderland designed for children and families, featuring hundreds of plant and tree species, as well as educational paths, experiences, and workshops focused on eco-sustainability, biodiversity, and environmental awareness, alongside a total of 21 attractions.
Those feeling nostalgic can rediscover six historic attractions that have been fully restored, including the Brucomela, the Jumbo, the romantic carousel, and the iconic Ferris wheel with its colorful 28 gondolas, considered one of the symbols of the city.
The park is designed to be enjoyed in every season: from the Splash Zone, a water area spanning over 2,100 square meters, and spacious areas for sun and relaxation during summer, to themed parties and events throughout the year—including Halloween celebrations, Carnival festivities, foam parties, light shows, and performances by stilt walkers, clowns, jugglers, and contortionists—as well as enchanting Christmas villages.
The park also offers a wide variety of food options to suit every taste: from traditional burgers and savory fried specialties to hot dogs, crispy pizza, classic pasta dishes, fresh salads, and delicious desserts and gelato.
